What is a thigh lift for men?
Losing weight is a huge accomplishment for any person. In some cases, men who reach their goal weight sometimes need cosmetic intervention to achieve their final body transformation. Depending on how long you were overweight and how much weight you lost, excess skin may be a separate concern if the skin was unable to adapt to the new shape and size of your body. Thighs are a specific area of trouble for many people. Spring, TX plastic surgeon Dr. Younghoon Cho offers thigh lift surgery (also known as thighplasty) at Chiseled, which trims extra skin on the outer or inner thighs to create a tighter, more contoured appearance. Thighplasty has increased in popularity because it offers natural-looking results for men battling loose skin on their thighs.

Thigh Lift Reviews
"After Gastric Bypass —I feel and look like a new person. - I had gastric bypass 10 years ago and had excess skin in many places. Dr. Cho had already done my breast augmentation/lift and arm lift beautifully. For this procedure, I had a tummy tuck and a medial thigh lift together. I feel and look like a new person. He has completely changed my confidence in myself! All the hard work to lose the weight culminated in these four procedures, and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my aesthetic needs!"- F. / RealSelf / Jun 09, 2019
"Integrated Aesthetics Was AMAZING! - Dr. Cho and his whole staff (Gina, Kara, Krista, and the whole front desk crew) are amazing! From start to finish, there is nothing to say but WOW. They take care of you and make sure you understand every little detail. You have access to them whenever you have any questions. I went to three plastic surgery facilities, and they were by far the best choice. I even paid a little more (not much) just because I knew that the skill level for this staff was worth it, and I was worth it. I had a breast augmentation and a brachioplasty, and in two weeks, the bottom half (medial thigh lift and tummy tuck) will be done. When you lose 100 lbs. and want to look your best, you save for the inevitable skin removal surgeries. This was a fantastic experience all around!"- F. / RealSelf / Mar 09, 2019
Who is a Candidate for A thigh lift?
Thigh lift surgery is a skin removal and skin tightening procedure that reduces the appearance of extra skin. Thighplasty is considered a post-weight-loss procedure and is typically performed on people who have lost 100 pounds or more. It can also help older men who are fighting sagging skin caused by age or those who have suffered from extreme weight fluctuation. If you have hanging, wrinkly, or loose skin on your upper thighs (whether it's the outer or inner thighs or both), thigh lift surgery may be a good option. Please remember that if cellulite is your main issue, Dr. Cho can suggest different treatments that are designed to help decrease the appearance of cellulite.
How is a thigh lift performed?
During thigh lift surgery, we usually administer general anesthesia to the patient. Dr. Cho will place an incision close to the top portion of the leg in the natural fold where the thigh meets the torso. The incision usually continues down to the middle point of the thigh area. This permits enough room to use surgical liposuction (if necessary) to remove isolated pockets of fat and to trim away the excess skin at the top thigh area. The skin will be pulled upward so it is tight and secured with sutures. In certain cases, Dr. Cho may make an incision underneath the butt or in the outer thigh area, depending on the amount of skin and tissue being removed. Thigh lift surgery at Chiseled reshapes the entire thigh area for a tighter and beautifully contoured appearance.
What can I expect after a thigh lift?
A thigh lift usually takes around 2 – 4 hours to complete. As soon as the surgery is done, we'll monitor and assess you before releasing you to return home for recovery. Men usually experience bruising, swelling, and discomfort during the first few days of recovery. After this initial stage, many patients are able to move around and walk slowly, which we do recommend for circulation and faster healing. The overall recovery period typically takes around 4 – 6 weeks. At-home wound care instructions provided by Dr. Cho will help the surgical incision heal so it's less visible. Although patients typically have some scarring, this can easily be covered with clothing, so you can show off your new shape with pride.
thigh Lift FAQ
Will a thigh lift remove cellulite or stretch marks?
A thigh lift is a great way to enhance the shape and appearance of your legs. Since a thigh lift calls for tightening of the skin and correcting stubborn fat deposits, it also improves the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks on your legs. If you're concerned about cellulite or stretch marks, let Dr. Cho know in your initial consultation so he can personalize your surgical plan to fit all of your goals.
How long will my results last?
If you stay healthy with proper diet and regular exercise, you should maintain your thigh lift results for a long time. Dr. Cho recommends you be at or near a healthy, sustainable weight prior to surgery so that it's easy to maintain your results. Pregnancy or significant weight changes after a thigh lift can alter your appearance. During your consultation, Dr. Cho will advise you on what will help your results last longer.
Can I combine a thigh lift with other surgeries?
Many men in the Spring, TX area combine a thigh lift with ab sculpting or a tummy tuck to create a custom lower body lift. Thighplasties are also a common part of post-weight-loss surgery. During your consultation, talk to Dr. Cho about your concerns and goals so he can develop a surgical plan that gives you the results you want.
What about a nonsurgical thigh lift?
While there are nonsurgical options to reduce body fat and tighten skin, these typically offer small improvements. A thighplasty is usually the best way to address significant amounts of loose skin and stubborn fat on your thighs. If you're interested in nonsurgical treatments, ask Dr. Cho for more information during your initial consultation. He will go over the benefits and drawbacks of both thigh lift surgery and nonsurgical options, as well as his recommendations on which would be the best fit for your goals.
