About IPL for men
An intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment is a popular dermal therapy that uses specialized wavelengths of light to target damaged skin cells. This treatment can be used to improve the appearance of wrinkles, sun damage, age spots, and hyperpigmentation. At Chiseled, board-certified dermatologist Dr. Melissa Chiang and board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Younghoon Cho use the Lumecca system for IPL therapy. Lumecca delivers three times more energy than traditional IPL technologies, which shortens treatment time and provides even more dramatic results. This light-based therapy can remove old skin cells to encourage the natural regeneration process and the production of collagen for healthier, radiant skin. If you live in Spring, TX or near The Woodlands, we invite you to call Chiseled to schedule a private skin consultation with our team today.
"fotofacial - IPL - I have very fair skin and have developed large brown spots on my face due to sun exposure in my youth. Dr. Chiang is the first doctor who has been willing to try to help treat those areas. I have had good results with just one IPL treatment."- S.K. / Yellowpages / Mar 24, 2016
"If You’re Reading This, You’re Making the Right Choice! - I was referred to Dr. Cho at Integrated Aesthetics by a very good friend of mine who already had multiple procedures (surgical and non-invasive) done by Dr. Cho. She had nothing but amazing things to say about him, his credentials, his entire staff, his bedside manner, his surgical practice and his results! After talking with her and one other friend who was also very familiar with Dr. Cho (and who later had the exact same surgery as me after seeing my results!), I decided it was a no-brainer and went straight to Integrated Aesthetics myself! With hundreds of plastic surgeons in the greater Houston area, I thought I’d be overwhelmed trying to choose the right one, but after my consult with Dr. Cho for a full mommy makeover PLUS a blepharoplasty, I was beyond confident that I was making the right decision choosing him. So much so, I didn’t even feel the need to consult with anyone else. Dr. Cho and his entire staff have been amazing from beginning to end, answering any and all questions I have, and providing the highest level of customer service and care a patient could wish for! Nearly a year after my big surgery, I couldn’t be happier with my results and the continued aftercare that Dr. Cho and his staff provide. At this point, they’re like family! Dr. Cho offers various complimentary services after any surgical procedure which for me included Z-wave and Emsculpt treatments that have made a world of difference and I’m so grateful for. I have since referred every single friend who’s considering surgical and non-surgical cosmetic enhancements to Dr. Cho and no one else. There’s no other plastic surgeon I would trust moving forward. He is truly the most qualified plastic surgeon in all of Houston and because of that, along with my amazing results, I will continue to choose Dr. Cho for any other cosmetic procedures I consider in the future. He is hands down, THE BEST in his field! If I could rate him and his staff above five stars I would!"- P. / RealSelf / Sep 02, 2020
Candidates for ipl
An IPL treatment can work great for any skin types and can help to improve dermal concerns without a lengthy recovery period. You may be an ideal candidate if you want to address issues like rosacea, sun damage, brown spots, freckles, melasma, hyperpigmentation, rough texture, overly large pores, age spots, or broken capillaries. During your initial visit, Dr. Chiang or Dr. Cho will examine your skin to determine whether IPL is the best choice for your needs.
An IPL is an outpatient treatment performed on-site at our Spring, TX office and usually takes about 45 – 60 minutes to complete. To start the procedure, one of our seasoned aestheticians will wash and dry your face before covering your eyes with protective goggles. The Lumecca IPL treatment is performed using a handheld wand that will pass over the skin while emitting light energy pulses. The Lumecca device has a specialized sapphire tip that emits a gentle cooling sensation to eliminate the need for a topical numbing agent. This cooling system also enables optimal comfort for our patients.
after your appointment
Since IPL is noninvasive, there is no required downtime associated with this procedure. Once your treatment is complete, you are free to return to your routine. Your skin may appear red or feel a little inflamed, but this is normal and should dissipate by the following day. Taking anti-inflammatory medicine may also help to help ease any swelling. Over the next 2 – 5 days, the damaged skin cells will crust and then flake off. It is very important to keep your skin protected with sunscreen as often as possible after an IPL and to not pick at the flaking skin, as picking can cause scarring. While you will probably see visible improvements after your first session, your skin will attain the best results with several treatments. We usually recommend 3 – 5 treatments, each spaced one month apart.
